In the process of data collation from the Data Subject, we will seek direct consent from the Subject at the time the information is provided. For instance, during employment procedure, pictorial consent for social media use may be collected. As a construction company we have multiple project sites which also house construction materials worth huge sums of money. In our bid to curb theft and improve security on these sites, we have installed CCTV cameras that monitor the day-to-day activities on site(s) solely for the purpose of securing our premises. The CCTVs are in no way used to monitor neighboring premises or activities not within our premises. In reference to section 35(8) of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation Bill, Personal Data is exempt from the data protection principles if it consists of a reference given in confidence by the Data Controller/Human Resource/Company Management, for the purposes of: employment, appointment to an office or provision of any service of the Data Subject.
